Re: Homeless Woman In India
50% of India food is wasted because they lack refridgeration. They actually have plenty of food. Also they insist on traditional farming methods which are labor intensive, wasteful and expensive. And in spite of all this they manage to have enough to throw half of it away. Apparently it's cheaper to grow more food than preserve what they have. |

Re: Homeless Woman In India
Hasn't anyone noticed that the higher the taxes, the more regulations, and the greater the financial attacks on the rich the more poor people there are? "Oh but we are redistributing the wealth" you say. Keep "redistributing" the wealth all you like. It's called trickle up poverty. You can't fight poverty by attacking the wealthy. |

Re: Homeless Woman In India
We have a ton of homeless in the city I'm living at in Texas as well. Just south of where you are. It seems ridiculous to see so many on the streets when we have so much that we just throw away. Shockingly the US government does distribute money to counties for homeless programs and yet .. I don't see how it's being put to use. We have a lot of "greediness" in Texas. When I start looking for programs for some of my patients, I can see where they've received funding, but when I call to see what they can do .. I either get a disconnected phone or a response that they can do nothing. |

Re: Homeless Woman In India
when i graduate from uni i plan to travel to these countries and by then i'll probably be more financially independent. if i see anyone like this i will immediately take them in and care for them. then send them annual funds to support them when i come back here. what we can buy for $100 here, can get a lot more there. i can live with $200 off my paycheck if it means that it will give people like this a better life. its unbelievable that there are so many people in these conditions
