I had a ventral hernia which is just above the belly button. I had it for years, I could tuck it in when I had to do some lifting or lean against something. It was about the size of a ping pong ball. It wasn't painful at all. I eventually had it fixed. When the anesthesia wore off it was the most painful thing imaginable. |

They do it laparoscopically now. They stick 2 hollow tubes into your abdomen (the 1" incision) then fill your belly with inert gas. This distends your belly real big and then they insert scopes and tolls into the tubes and do all they work internally. If you have weak connective tissue, guess what can happen from this procedure...you get a diastsis recti. It happened to me. |
