Some one shoot him & put him down - we'd do it for the poor dog. No chain him up outside & let him yell at people til he chokes on his own saliva.

Re: Got Bitten by a Dog and Now He Has Rabies
Dude….i got bit by a feral kitten at an animal shelter while doing 300 hrs community service back while in college @ Florida State (Seminolessss!!). Well, I got a phone call from the county telling me they had sacrificed the kittens (they were a group of 2-3) and sent the heads to Jacksonville. However, FedEx lost the package. Like dude so did someone get a package with 3 cat heads?! Anyway, they said we had to assume the worst… so I’d need to come in 5x for the rabies prophylaxis series. They had me go to the Leon County Health Dept place & covered 100% of whatever the cost was. Oh yeah…the animal shelter was, like, the county shelter. And there’s no sovereign immunity for counties…just the federal gov’t. So I coulda sued…well, more likely my parents, for wrongful death.. I was a pre-med & I was a junior by credit after 1 semester of college. So when this happened, I had taken microbiology and was in virology. So I knew they’d wanted to examine the brains for Negri bodies. If they saw them, rabies was in the saliva. Still, I hadn’t known what “feral” meant, let alone the note on that cage saying that lol. You first get anti-rabies IgG antibody, which comes from exposing an animal/person to the viral antigens (usually just a vaccine lol), drawing their blood, isolating the plasma, and then isolating the IvIg from it. The rest of the shots are regular vaccinations. The purpose of the antibodies is to give you coverage immediately, so u don’t have to wait for (1) the 2nd shot, and (2) the time lag between then and when ur body produces a robust humoral response capable of actually doing something. I filled out the rest of my community service sheet myself and gave it to probation. Lmao. I knew from virology that rabies is 100% fatal. Was pissed that shelter didn’t tell us shit. I used to wash cats and kittens cus some had so many fleas when they came in that the water would rinse out pure RED. The kittens were acting totally normal until after I got one out and it sunk its teeth into my hand. I jerked away and it sent the cat flying across the room. It’s time to get to the CNS varies by bite location cuz it gets to a nerve then travels along it right to the brain stem. I think once it reaches that (peripheral) nerve, you’re hosed. Although amputation would prolly cure you at that point. Once it gets to your CNS, you’re DEF hosed. It’s a nasty nasty fucking virus. That dude in the video clearly already has encephalitis. Aka brain swelling. Still tho, gotta wonder who between Tallahassee and Jacksonville received 2-3 heads of large kittens lol and how the fuck do u even lose that shit?! I think it would be on ice, too!!! For a drinking and driving charge during college…for sitting in a fkn parking lot with the car on. The cop who arrested me isn’t a cop anymore. She’s a fucking psycho who used to stalk nightclubs looking for girls to arrest. , apparently |

Re: Got Bitten by a Dog and Now He Has Rabies
Rabies is such a cool disease. It uses the brains defense system (the blood brain barrier) to make it immune to a cure, and then it makes the victim terrified of water so saliva full of rabies can build up in its mouth to help spread it more efficiently

Re: Got Bitten by a Dog and Now He Has Rabies
I think they used that on a girl from Wisconsin. She actually DID survive, but had to learn how to walk, talk, feed herself, etc, etc. As far as I know, that girl is the ONLY KNOWN SURVIVOR of rabies. I guess they started inoculating her or whatever, and it was JUST BARELY within the limit for survival. I think they put her in a coma for a few weeks also. But, on the bright side, she now has immunity from rabies. So there's THAT! |
