My guess is she was first trying to spear the pit lightly but it slides away from the blade. she decided to spear it fast, giving it no time to duck the blade... she done it... who would have guessed!?

[8.9] on angle of the blade..bet the serrated edge rubbed/nudged the bone..

And who the hell STABS an avocado pit? take the sharp part of the blade (not the pointy one..) and just chop it with one good clean chop..pit will stick to blade, twist .. pull..done..

If that's too much? just scoop it out then...
there always the spoon above the knife drawer. safer by ten miles than a knife in avocvado pit removal

Not exactly sure how this happened, but apparently she was trying to cut an avocado and this happened. Which earned her a trip to the emergency room.
