Food addiction is the same as any other addiction. Once the brain chemistry changes it isn't as easy as "dropping the fork" I hate how people think food addicts have it easier than other addicts, they dont.

Some drugs cause physical addiction as well. You can actually have a seizure and die if you go cold turkey from alcohol for example, so I don't particularly agree with your statement. I agree that there is something that happens in the brain though with food addiction.
