Exactly, there are much better ways to teach children when they are doing something wrong, and that they should not do that again. Using pain and brutal pain only will cause them to have a big risk of serious mental troubles later on in life, doing it to their own children, or if they already have a genetic predisposition, to become psychopaths...

The neighbors used to make the kids eat whatever they left on their plate for breakfast the next day. And they made them take a serving of everything that was on the table, like it or not.
