Frozen Pea Torture
Apperently, in some cultures, teachers and/or parents motivate teens and children to do better in school by making them kneel on frozen peas to torture them. has anyone ever heard of this?

I have experienced something similar. When I was a kid I was punished by kneeling on dry rice for at least 30 mins. at a time. It was not fun, believe me.

They also used to use gravel and broken glass, depending on the location. When my mother was a child, her parents would have her kneel on gravel to "punish" her. A lot of Mennonites in the area did this to their kids in the 70s.
