A male horse with testes is called a stallion. A male horse without testes is called a gelding. A female horse is called a mare. A mare used for breeding is called a breedmare. All baby horses are called foals. A male foal is called a colt. A female foal is called a filly. Hope that helps. |

thanks. google translation is soo shitty when it comes to slavic language (or asian) but i will change the title etc. but it looked more like a calf than a foal to me looking at mouth so i choose cow lol found extra pic so looking at the neck it's clearly a foal. |

I swear the article used the words "broodmare" and "calving" in the same sentence, which is impossible because calving is a term used almost exclusively for cows and other animals whose babies are referred to as calves, (whales, for instance). I actually got a FB pal in Romania to read the article and she got confused as Hell by the words too, but that she was under the impression, judging by the picture, that the weird thingamabob is a deformed FOAL. So who knows |
