At 3:15 p.m. yesterday, the Fire Department responded to an unusual emergency at the intersection of Mariano Acosta Avenue and Fray Vacas Galindo Avenue, where a man was hanging from a billboard. Within minutes, the scene was filled with onlookers filming with their cell phones, waiting for the man to make his fateful decision.

Paramedics arrived at the scene, accompanied by specialized rescue personnel. They applied technical protocols to ensure the safety of the citizen and carried out a controlled rescue. However, just as they were almost reaching him, the man jumped and was left hanging from a rope.

The cleverness of the rescuers, including a civilian, prevented the man from fulfilling his wish to end his life. Once they cut the rope, they lowered him and immediately treated him by medical personnel.
