My best friend lived with a guy who had custody of his son with fetal alcohol syndrome. I guess the wife had liquor bottles hidden along side the road on the way to work and drank constantly throughout the pregnancy. Anyway, the bottom line is when she went to check on the infant, it had died. It was born with so many issues. She took such good care of the baby and I think the dad thought it would come through, but...I didn't ask any of the details. I am not sure what issues they were dealing with, but I know the infant almost died many times and my friend was able to bring him back.

I must say I did have a glass of beer on the odd occasion while I was pregnant with my 3rd child.. It would only be mid strength & maybe 3 times in the entire pregnancy.. I look at my little boy & wonder how anyone could drink excessively while pregnant...
