some people like to compare this to male circumcision. There is no comparision. To make it simular imagine that the clitoral hood is excised partially. Then it would be even. What is being done here causes emotional and mental issues. Especially considering the age it is done. These women will never truly enjoy sex and at best will tolerate it. Then imagine a man having to open up his new bride with a knife on her wedding night. Repeat this all over the muslim world and you have a bunch of uptight disfunctional people.
