Actually it is. It's the first vaccine given to a newborn, given shortly after birth.

On my last son born in 2003, i refused that shot for him. The nurses gave me a hard time, even ridiculed me, but i had done my homework since my own tragic loss. I refused the shot till my son was older. He was also not in to 'at risk for hep B' category. Since i knew that, i refused this shot.

Hep B vaccine is given at birth, again at 1-2 mos., and again at 6 mos. That's the CDC recommendation, anyway. My daughter had them at that schedule.

I just read his story on the family blog. How sad. He WAS doing better once they took him off some antibiotics that seemed to be making him worse. Then they (docs) accidentally gave him the antibiotic he was allergic to and he went downhill fast and died. How awful for the family. |

Yeah, I read the blog, too and he was looking better for awhile. I hope the docs lost their license for giving someone a medicine he's allergic to! That's malpractice right there!
