It's incredible to think how far we've come in under a hundred years.

See, this website is free... and that other one would never post pictures of rotting ball sacks or giant pus-filled ulcers... so where else would we get our fix?

Re: Facial reconstruction performed on soldiers injured during WWI

There was an artist that made "masks" for soldiers with severe facial injuries during WW1. They were damn good too, except of course, they weren't moveable so the person couldn't really do any facial expressions. But I guess that's a heck of a lot better than walking around with a big hole in the middle of your face.

Aw shucks, give these guys a break; they just decided to celebrate Halloween early, that's all. They were not really soldiers, ya know.

Re: Facial reconstruction performed on soldiers injured during WWI

Can anyone explain what the "tubes" of flesh are on these men's faces? In one pic, it looks like a man had his penis grafted onto his arm for safekeeping while he heals, but I don't understand the other "tubes."
My guess is that those tubes are used to cover up areas tht don't have skin, because back than they have yet to discover skin grafting and they had to us skin that was still attached to keep in living. Correct me if I'm wrong
