They get high by doing that shit and the media always reports it as an "eating disorder". It's not an eating disorder, it's a drug addiction. They get addicted to the high you get when you starve. What happens is a girl or guy decides to lose weight and then like all things that make you feel good they get addicted to it.

been in the hospital for it for over 6 months in my early twenties. They even follow you to the bathroom in those places. I was so bad i would wipe my plate with windex before i would put food on it for fear that any butter or grease or anything fattening had stuck to it and was not washed off from the meal before. I actually once looked like some of these folks, and still to this day feel fat when i see them. FOr me it isn't so much as a how I look issue as a guilt complex with food and was convinced I looked selfish if i did not look starved. go figure right.

we are all fucked up one way or another, we drink, we smoke, we take drugs, we eat too much, and we dont eat. We are all fucked and hopefully we can get some help.

Those "pro-Ana" websites make me sick. They offer tips for how to get that kind of look, how to binge and purge, shit like that. If it were up to me I'd have them all shut down, but what can you do when the person is an adult who knows full well what the consequences of leading such a life will be?
