This is not fungal and certainly wouldn't respond with iodine or antifungals!

i was a medic too we had a guy that sort of looked like that
he didn't shower all through the first 4 weeks of boot camp and he came to sick call that thing look likeit was rotting off
not quite as bad as this pick but it was a interesting sight
