My grandma spent time at the notorious california hospital for mental illness. I forgot the name of it, but she was never the same, but could function okay.

This original post was back in 2009, since then I have had another child and life has generally gotten in the way. So, I don't get on DR as much as I use to. However, I am tickled that one of my old ass threads is living on, and more folks are becoming educated on this type of treatment.  |

What was the purpose of the water therapy and what was it supposed to do? All these years I wondered why Patty Duke's character in, "Valley of the Dolls", was in a tank of water when she put her toe through the cover.
