Re: Cyclist Seriously Injured After Run in with Motorcyclist
I did triathlons and time trial races for almost 20 years, quit in 2012. The last 3 years, I didn't ride my bike on the road for training, only to race. Did all my training indoors, on my trainer. The road just got too dangerous. And among the many menaces; distracted, aggressive drivers resenting the fact a bike was on "their" road, soccer moms, the absolute biggest threat were older drivers. Next time you take a ride and see someone driving 12 inches from the curb, 9/10 times its the elderly. And I was the guy who obeyed all the rules of the road. I get it, a lot of dick headed bikers out there putting themselves in harms way. I was never that guy. |

Re: Cyclist Seriously Injured After Run in with Motorcyclist
A lot of motorcyclist can assholes to cyclist too. I don't know why people think that way. It's a road. Not your road. I'm always looking out for things jumping out of nowhere. Kids (#1), cyclist, motorcyclist, animals, people, car doors, etc. You always have to be alert.
