Cryogenic burns are cold burns caused by liquefied gases. They can cause injury due to their extremely low temperatures by producing skin and tissue changes similar to a thermal burn. The nature of the injury will depend on the temperature, time of exposure and the chemical component of the cryogenic liquid itself.

Seriously! I have gotten a small burn from dry ice and it nearly blistered but my word. They had to have had liquid nitrogen poured on them or something =/ yeesh! Freeze burns are so effing painful.

Being a computer enthusiast, I see lots of vids etc with people playing with liquid nitrogen..I always wondered....what if?
Seen vids on youtube of that kip kay guy shoving his hand in liquid o2 and removing it. due to the heat of his hand, it would bubble off fast..aslong as he didn't leave it sit in there too long. (kinda like when you drop some water on hot steel. it "floats" on the surface from temp gradient difference)

Wow I've experienced a small burn with liquid nitrogen usage but it was nothing on that scale. It was cool emptying it onto the lab floor at the end of the day, seeing it shoot off everywhere evaporating and smoking.
