She woiuld have had to get it exactly in the middle of her brain/ skull I think to be able to get the knife in by herself and not have any serious damage...nuts the hand that luck/ fate delivers sometimes.

My immediate thoughts too. I'm thinking one of the relatives did it, hoping she'd die, and they all have one less problem in their day, but she survived, so, they blamed the 'tard. |
