Re: Chinese Man's Mouth Disfigured By Wolf Attack
Yup, that the real story, according to the dude himself. He (now 66) was 11 when he was attacked by a wolf; he struggled with it for about half an hour, and got bitten in his throat and in his lips. The wolf then grabbed him from his neck and took him away, but luckily a group of fishermen saw the scene and managed to frighten the wolf, so it left the prey. Since very limited medical resources were available there at the time, the man was "cured" with herbs. The wounds healed, but the improvised "cure" left him in such conditions, and his life was ruined forever (for example, he can eat only liquid food to survive). Recently, the man was brought to the Guyang Dental Hospital, and the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon (Professor Feng Hung Chao) after a quick analisys of the case pointed out that wolves carry a variety of oral bacteria, some of which can actually cause this type of difigurement. But what about the herbs and the water used during the treatment? What we know for sure is: 1) A wolf licking you won't cause that 2) Rabies won't cause that either 3) A wolf's bite by itself won't cause that as what we see in the photo(s) is the result of both tissue and bones necrosis caused by some bacteria: Fusobacterium necrophorum? Prevotella intermedia? Borrelia vincentii? Porphyromonas gingivalis? Tannerella forsynthesis? Treponema denticola? Staphylococcus aureus? What caused his condition hasn't been determined (HARD to do 55 years after), but whatever it was, it could have come either from the wolf's mouth or from the shit that they used to "fix" the issue (herbs, water to "clean" it, etcetera). Until you don't positively identify the bacteria that caused it, this will be an unanswered question. The good news is that the hospital is working on his case and hopefully soon the man will be provided with dentures (false teeth) so he'll be able to start chewing again. |

The life of a Chinese Man was ruined 56 years ago from a Wolf attack. He received heavy wounds around the face and he met the surgery after 56 years of waiting. |
