But it looked like he spit something out though? Are you sure that wasn't fatal?
I agree with Bleed. That guy probably came away with some nasty burns, but he survived. I doubt he even spent time in a burn unit.

Very high, I doubt this was fatal. Saved by his reaction time and the Leidenfrost effect.
That saves my hands on occasion working in a restaurant kitchen...

This is a galvanising plant. The liquid is molten zinc at >420°C, explaining the rapid combustion of his clothing.
The explosion was probably caused by the introduction of a small amount of water trapped inside the item being dipped. At these temps water flashes to a volume of steam about 1600 times that of the water it started as.
He is fried !!
