This is a galvanising plant. The liquid is molten zinc at >420°C, explaining the rapid combustion of his clothing. The explosion was probably caused by the introduction of a small amount of water trapped inside the item being dipped. At these temps water flashes to a volume of steam about 1600 times that of the water it started as. |
