Child With a Doubled-Looking Nose Before and After Surgery
Diprosopus is a rare congenital condition involving duplication of the face. Its cause is unknown, and no major single-gene cause has been identified. Complete forms commonly involve the central nervous system, and most affected babies are stillborn or die within hours to months. Surgery is seldom attempted for complete forms, while minor forms may undergo maxillofacial repair. Frontonasal dysplasia is a separate condition whose features can include widely spaced eyes and clefts affecting the nose and central face. It is caused by mutations in ALX1, ALX3 or ALX4. Extra nostrils alone are not considered duplication of the nose.

Re: Child With a Doubled-Looking Nose Before and After Surgery
I often wonder what some of these children with deformities such as this, the Chinese boy with the third arm, and several other deformed children that made world wide news in the last decade, would have looked like in the present day had their parents decided not to give them corrective surgery.

He still doesn't look quite....what the majority of people would deem as "normal", his eyes are really wide apart and he appears to have a larger-than-average skull as well.
