Re: Cellulitis Of The Leg

Sucks to be a diabetic

Great! I found out Monday I am diabetic and anemic. No clue what I'll be eating!

I take care of my feet so I won't be appearing on here in that section! I also notice any little speck or change on me.

I was diagnosed the same, lost twenty pounds over about two years and it all went away

Did you diet and take meds? I have an oral med right now, no insulin or every day blood checking as of now.

It was upsetting at first, but, what can I do? You know, "Oh blah dee, oh blah dah, life goes on."

My great nieces and nephew are my inspiration. I want to see them grow up! The nephew is 18 months and he is such a happy baby and a character! He speaks his own language, but, he understands us. My oldest niece is 8, going into third grade. I pick her up after school and hang out with her and the nephew.

The other niece is only three months old and I have only seen her once because of work schedules of her mom and dad, but, she was in the hospital all weekend with a vein on her nose near her right eye. It looked black and blue, but, the med they gave her took the swelling and colors out. She has an astigmatism, which I do, but, her vision isn't affected and she is not in pain, thank goodness! We just have a round eye, instead of a football shaped one.

I take an oral med and used to exersize on the machine, but that just worked up an appetite. I stopped eating ALL carbs and anything after 6pm, and just work in the yard and hike and stuff on the weekend and lost about 2 pounds a month that way with out being hungry. Best of all: I've kept it off!

I'll have typical day:

2 eggs & 2 bacon or sausage for breakfast

Salad with grilled chicken or salmon for lunch with full fat dressing & cheese

evenings:
1 meat and green veggie (1/2 can to 1 can of greenbeans or similar) & sliced tomato or squash (raw)

Or some low carb soup like vegetable, be careful of sugar content

Snack: Celery or carrots or similar.

Stop the carbs/stop the cravings!!

So far, sugar, fats and pressure have all been down and I"M NOT HUNGARY ALL THE TIME

Re: Cellulitis Of The Leg

My mum's diabetic and on insulin injections 4x daily. She can develop a hypoglycaemic attack that fast, we have to get her out of it by plying her with fast-sugar-release wine gums & coke. Worse still, we've resorted to the sub-cutaneous glucagen injection. Awful disease :(

Have you ever tried dextrose/fructose? Like Dextro Energy? That works really well and quick! My mother had the same thing! You're right, it's an awfull disease.
