Re: Cellulitis Of The Leg
My mum has this. She had a cut in her foot which led to her catching the infection. Her legs haven't ballooned as much as in the vid but it's horrible. She had it last year and it took 6 months for it to go and now she's got it again. Luckily it's not as severe this time but last time the skin was bright red and blistered. Good job she has now retired as she needs to rest. |

Re: Cellulitis Of The Leg
When she first had it, it was quite a blow as it meant she could hardly walk. She was in in hospital for a week having antibiotics directly injected into her and then home. I looked after her then for about 6 weeks. Went down daily to do the house work and cooking her food etc (i think i told you Sharon at the time). My dad was at work you see so she needed me in the day. After that she just had to rest often and she had to remain off work for 6 months. She had it in her right leg and it never went back to the normal size her leg was and stayed a slight red colour. The main thing with her was when it first flared up, knocked her off her feet literally, very high temperature and sickness. Was very sore to the ouch as well and had to gently rub cream in. Nothing gets my mum down, working 8am until 5pm daily at the age of 60, so when she came ill with it and couldn't move we knew it was bad. Really glad she has just retired from teaching now can relax. This flare up isn't as bad as the last one and she should be out of hospital in a few days |

Re: Cellulitis Of The Leg
Very very true! A sweet, devoted and selfless young lady whom I have upmost respect for A retired teacher? What branch? My mum is a teacher, works with special needs children with an interest in Down's kids. She has diabetes where she has to inject insulin 4x daily as her pancreas is defunct. Our mums have it very tough but have lovely daughters to keep them going <3 |
