When I had my c section my skin was cut horizontally but my uterus was cut vertically..reason being my baby was curled in ball and breech..she was also premature so since she was so small that's the only way they could grab her..it sucks alot cause vertical cuts cut threw the thickest part of ur muscle, meaning its more painful and heals alot slower. My doctor said it takes up to at least a full year to heal
