In the case of the woman above, the scalp was not fully severed so it still had some blood supply, and the wound was clean and quick, not to mention the time to treatment was quick. This little girl has none of those lucky breaks. She has suffered complete loss of blood supply to the tissue, and the accident happened underwater in a polluted, muddy, river most likely running with fecal matter and bacteria, as tropical rivers are wont to be. At this point, the best we could do for her would be some fat and skin grafts to give her a shiny bald head, and a good wig.
