Re: The Boy with a Maggot Infection Inside of His Head
I don't know the whole story, but from what I have heard, maggots do not eat living flesh. More than likely what we are seeing is an old but working medical practice. What is done is if you have an infection or gang-green<--(no clue on the spelling) or very often on burn victims they put maggots on the dead skin or wound, and the maggots eat the rotting skin and don't touch the living skin. This is why they aren't clearing out the whole most likely. They put the bugs there to heal him. |

Re: The Boy with a Maggot Infection Inside of His Head
The maggots were used to cure a wound, in 3rd world countries, I think this is from Bangaledesh, they use maggot to eat dead tissue and bacteria. I think this is the case here as well. As see the reasonably fresh blood dripping down the side of his head. |
