Re: Bare Metal Stenting
I'm 44 and at 41 had Carotid to Carotid double bypass surgery. I was in good health and not overweight, however, I smoked like a chimney. Due to not watching what I ate and smoking, my left Subclavian artery and one on the right side were both 100% blocked, causing headaches, dizziness, vision problems, and blackouts. To make a long story short, when my entire left hand and arm went numb, I went to see my PCP immediately and was informed that I was at risk for a stroke, because the blockage wasn't allowing enough oxygen to get to my brain, because the blood flow to my brain was almost non existent, and they were all very surprised I hadn't had a stroke yet. Moral of my story...You can have a MI or a stroke at any age, due to any number of reasons. I am all healthy now, quite smoking (going on three years now) and my blood work looks like that of a 20 year old...
