Re: BABY BORN WITH BAD DEFORMITY, SO SAD.
jcoop24, I respect your opinion but don't assume that people who disagree with you or would do things differently from you aren't parents themselves. A painless death for that child might be the most merciful thing a parent could do. justlookingaO, we could appreciate the good without other living beings having to suffer. (Especially if there is supposed to be some kind of Heaven which is "good" forever) The ones born without brains can't appreciate anything and it's fucked up for them to have to be that way as an example to the "normal" people. I hope there is no God because there is absolutely no excuse for a God to do that to living beings. This atrocity cannot be justified in any way. I take comfort in the fact that nature does not purposefully go out of its way to cause harm. It just is. |

Re: BABY BORN WITH BAD DEFORMITY, SO SAD.
Okay, I've been looking forever and I finally managed to track down some background information on this picture. From what I could find, this is a case of amniotic band syndrome, which means that the amniotic sac partially ruptured during pregnancy, leaving strands of it floating around in the fluid with the baby. These strands can stick to the baby or wrap around an arm or leg. In this case, the baby actually swallowed a strand (babies are constantly swallowing amniotic fluid). Because the strand was still attached to the amniotic sac, every time the baby swallowed it was pulled closer, causing the strand to cut through parts of the face from the mouth up, and at some point the baby also rolled around and got the strand around its head, which caused the bizarre head shape as the head tried to grow around the restrictive band. Hope that information is interesting to someone... |
