Re: Baby Bit in Head by a Dog

Poor baby for sure but the dog is blameless.

Humans construct the paradigm for dogs biting humans in every dog bite event.

Babies and dogs. Not a good combination.

Re: Baby Bit in Head by a Dog

I trust my dogs around my son and always have done. I recently had my 16 year old staff pts but even at the stage where she was nearly blind and totally deaf she still wouldn't have harmed him. I've got another staffy that we got when he was 5 and they used to play all the time. My son is registered blind and has a whole load of things wrong with him but i can guarantee you that she'd never hurt him .. in fact she is so protective over him i have to watch myself when we play cos she'll bite me thinking i'm hurting him. I do believe that 95% of the time it's a human fault for a dog biting but dogs are no different to humans and can be born with a screw loose. Worst dog i ever owned was bred by my nanna so i knew his whole life and he was a toy poodle! He was a vicious little bastard and i wouldn't have allowed him around adults that didn't know him let alone leave him with kids. I kept him until he was 15 and then he was pts due to old age. I also have a british bulldog and anybody with a BBD will understand how bloody thick they are and wouldn't even know how to bite let alone bite

This is NOT a good thing. This indicates that you do not have full control over your dog. If she does not know the difference between play and danger, that is an issue.

Any time you have to be careful around your dog, because they might bite you - means there is a problem and you do not have 100% control of them.

Your dog does not completely trust you, if it feels it has to protect your son from you.

This is something you need to reassess and work on in your house.
