Re: Assisted Suicide on German Tv
I'm sure things are better where euthanasia is illegal, so people suffer endlessly all because of a sky daddy only fools believe in. Btw, it's Switzerland you retard. Germany isn't the only country where people speak German. |

Re: Assisted Suicide on German Tv
Of all the videos I've watched on DR, this has had the most profound effect on me. This is how I'd wish to leave this life, should I become terminally ill. With dignity, and on my own terms. Gute Reise, Frau Kessel. |

Re: Assisted Suicide on German Tv
I remember when a nightly news show played footage of Dr Kevorkian doing pretty much this same thing, which got him arrested and convicted of 2nd-degree murder.

Re: Assisted Suicide on German Tv
I don't know if you're trolling, but try living one fucking day with any medical condition that causes intractable pain...... genetic disorders with little research. Dr. Kavorkian was an idol of mine back in Junior high/high school, at the height of his career. A legend before his time. |

Re: Assisted Suicide on German Tv
People so often die alone, with prolonged pain and suffering, there is something very comforting and beautiful to die with those you care for the most in sleep. I'm glad this was afforded to her and her family.

Re: Assisted Suicide on German Tv
100% would do this. Imagine if everyone in the world had this choice. The choice not to suffer needlessly, through medications which make them sicker in the minimal chance they may prolong their life of pain for a bit longer. The stress on them, the family and support network. The months/years of hospitalisation trying to keep the body going. If everyone had that choice not to suffer needlessly at the end of their life, hospitals would not be so overcrowded, they can go on their own terms surrounded by their loved ones. I watched a few family members beg to die through various illnesses and not be able to. One was around for 2 years, suffering daily before her body finally gave out by this time she was no longer the happy, smily person she was, just a shell. And as much as we have good memories of her, everyones first intial memory of her is being a bag of bones, confined to a hospital bed, dosed up on pain meds to the point she didnt know who she was, we were or where she was. Another suffered severe depression and tried multiple times to get on top of it, taking every treatment and medication that was thrown at him. for 15 years he tried multiple times to take his own life (all of which failed as he was constantly monitored on the psych ward) He was miserable. He finally managed to do it when he got hold of some ignitable fluids and set himself on fire. Closed casket funeral and devastating to our family. Imagine if they had have been given the choice and support to make that decision. |
