As a travelling footcare specialist I experienced one case of this. The man was severely mentally unstable, had just lost his wife a couple of years previous, and actually I was completely astonished when he removed his socks as his home was immaculate and he was a very successful, well dressed man. People are strange creatures indeed. Needless to say, I suggested to him firmly that he see his family doctor and get a referral to a podiatrist immediately. Scary part was that he was also a diabetic! Ugh!
but that's the thing- doesn't diabetes cause foot problems like this?
