Re: To All the Smokers
I hope to quit this year. On the flip side, I perform a valuable public service. I smoke and help to support the economy. If smoking was illegal it would put hundreds of thousands of tobacco farmers out of business and on welfare which in turn would destroy many of the small towns. I will also not live as long which alleviates my burden on social security and medicare. Rather then live to be 80 and require more intensive ongoing care, I will likely die before 70 which will save a couple hundred thousand in social security payments, insurance and personal care. I know it's bad for me but the government nor any person should be able to force me to quit. It is my personal choice just like it is a person's choice to drink alcohol or use a cell phone which has been linked to brain cancer. |

Re: To All the Smokers
your picture makes me think of Griffith Never smoked before, never will, have had the urge to when really stressed though Much respect to those of you who have kicked the habit,I know it's a bitch to quit anything addictive I like the idea of doing something else when the craving is strong (the brushing teeth example).I think that idea could be fitted to many activities that one may want to be rid of EDIT @Black_Knight you actually make some damn good points, especially the last one regarding your right to smoke. |
