When I first started working in the biomed shop at the hospital on of the first areas I was responsible for was the RNICU otherwise known as Neonatel ICU.
This is where all the premee babies were, I worked on the heart monitoring equipment and the ventilators.
It was heartbreaking to see those little guys so sick.
And as a soon to be father myself at the time it was very scarry to see the parents of these kids.
People my own age going through such a horrible thing.
I remember when my wife was preganat at the time people asking me if I wanted a boy or a girl.
I would alway give the same answer "I want healthy"
But just as you said in one of your earlier posts about your friends child , they fight so hard to live.
and thank god with the technology we have today many times we can save them at 21 ,22 weeks.
I rarely ever got to see what happened to the babies who we saved in RNICU so it makes me very happy when I hear from people like Kelly who has been through this with her son and to know that he is a fine healthy child now.
When I hear from people like her it reminds me why I work in the field I do.
And yes Kelly please do post some pics of the son
hopefully some of him then and now I know we would love to see your little guy.

pics 1,2,3 are actually of a miscarried fetus in which the mother needed to have a d & c to remove.

pic 7 of the fetus in the sac was actually removed from a woman after it was found to be ectopic

in 11, the fetus was already dead and it had to be taken...hence the gray coloration immediately after its still birth.

in 12 it was proven quite a while back this is fabricatd.

the rest ive never seen before so i dont know.

we learned about these in nursing school after a pro life truck came thru and the ob'gyn on staff informed us of which were fakes as among the doctor community, these pics are well known and they were used by a reverend who snuck into a clinic, stole a miscarried fetus, took a bunch of photos from the files of aborted AND miscarried fetuses and paraded around town with it. he was later arrested.

I don't give two shits about abortions. We have enough problems trying to keep the people born already alive and healthy. The world is over populated as is and we don't need to increase our numbers by saving every accidental pregnancy or rape pregnancies. Humans kill other humans every day against the victims will and people find this more offensive then that? Anti-abortionists can go to hell.

Yep EB it's a worthwhile job indeed, I swear i would of been a wreck if not for all the staff in the neonatal unit where my son was for nearly 3 months. Damn heartbreaking the things i saw but it's amazing how much fight these premature babies have in them.
