Re: Is Abortion Murder?
currently abortion is legal right up until just before the child is born. i understand that most people do not know this, but is IS true. my mother worked in an abortion clinic for two months before she could no longer stomach it. her job was to examine all of what was evacuated and make certain that every piece of baby, (whole babies as well), and afterbirth was accounted for. one only needs to find a doctor to perform the abortion. late term abortion proceedures used are saline abortions and partial birth abortions.

Re: Is Abortion Murder?
it is very very rare for a woman to conceive of rape. not impossible, but rare. less than 1% of abortions are done for rape victims. the extreme shock and stress that women go through both during and after her rape usually throw off her hormones and cycle. each time i was raped i missed my period for months, but i was never pregnant. when my 17yr old daughter was offered the morning after pill in the ER after her rape, she declined it. the nurse was stunned and tried vigorously to talk her into it. i kept my mouth shut and let my daughter speak for herself knowing her to be a strong woman of her own mind. my daughter told her that if by some chance she did come up pregnant, the child would be hers and hers alone, never his. she also told the nurse that it was the wrong time in her cycle and that it was unlikely she'd conceive at all. i'm glad that somehow i had imparted some strength to her somehow even in my brokeness. i'm also glad that i had provided a damn good sex education. how many teenage girls understand their cycles that well? her period was a week late. we were relieved and yet we cried too. you wouldn't understand this unless you'd been raped. i found this bit online and thought it interesting: In some parts of the Muslim world, when a woman is raped, she is seen as unclean. She is an embarrassment, a burden to her family, as few men in her culture will marry her. She may be sold into slavery (prostitution), or male family members may even try to kill her—the innocent victim—to get rid of their humiliation. We rightly recoil in horror at such barbaric attitudes and practice, but turn around and advocate the very same behavior when we say a woman who has been raped should have the right to kill the innocent victim of rape—the baby, for the very same reasons. |

Re: Is Abortion Murder?
Just because your daughter is strong enough to handle it dosent mean that every woman/girl who's raped is. Lets face it some who are raped are just girls.

Re: Is Abortion Murder?
So just because everyone in your family is multiple raped means that you know what everyone else feels? how do you know i wasn't? Just because you have some idiotic sense of self righteousness doesn't mean its right. What if your daughter got pregnant with her rapists kid? You'd keep it and love it as your own? Yea right. You would think of the fucker every time you looked at the monster. You would grow to hate the child. Many women who are raped never tell.. i would imagine about 2 of every 3 women. So you honestly have no idea. |

Re: Is Abortion Murder?
People who have an abortion don't want to have the kid and don't want to deal with the pain of childbirth. People against abortion shouldn't attack it, because a death is a death. A person dies every 8-12 seconds, abortion or otherwise. "Right" and "wrong" are simply determined by a person's conscience, when really there is no "right" or "wrong" to it. From what this website has shown me, I've personally come to the conclusion that you die any way you die, and its not good or bad. Its just a fact. |

Re: Is Abortion Murder?
I think abortion is acceptable depending on circumstances. Financial circumstances and family size are currently two of the most popular reasons to get an abortion AFTER the "had one night stand unprotected sex with stranger" reason. Abortion should never be a way to "fix" a mistake but people tend to go for that option. Then again if pregnancy happened after all the proper methods were used to prevent it, then it's possibly acceptable depending on circumstances again. Then of course there's women who will abort after being raped. Many, many circumstances depend. |

Re: Is Abortion Murder?
i've been multiply raped, not my daughter. i did report it once, and the military denied it. it's taken over 30 years for them to admit it and give me my PTSD rating. yet the man goes unpunished. i've never reported one since that rape. my daughter reported hers, i sat and held her hand in the police station, and they refused to prosecute because he was a 17 year old marine. please do not tell me i have no idea. and yes, my daughter and i talked in that emergency room. she would have kept that baby and raised it, and i would have helped her and so would have her daddy. without any question. and with love. i know it sounds foreign to you, but that is just who we are. and i'm sorry if you thought i was being self righteous. i'm not trying to be. i am only sharing my experience, and my belief. i do not expect others to share those beliefs. i am not here to argue. i understand why some women choose to abort their babies even if it would not be my choice. i know the pain involved. i will say honestly that i wish there was a way to save the children, only for their innocence. but i know that some women do not feel capable of this choice, and perhaps their family and friends would not allow them to make the choice. i hope healing for them. i hope healing for us all. btw, in case you wonder; my daughter has healed remarkably. i got her into therapy the very next night. 7 months after the rape she gave a speech to her English class about it. she's the strongest woman i know. i wish i could be more like her. |
