Re: Aborted Babies
I worked as a nurse in a clinic that performed abortions up to 28 weeks - some of the things I've seen..... Pro-life groups would picket out front and yell insults to workers and patients, often times with huge posters showing pictures like in this thread. The Doctors carried guns to work as they received so many threats. Needless to say, after 8 months of this, I quit. Since the only skilled employees were the doctor and myself, it was left up to me to 'count parts' - I just couldn't take it anymore. Under 12 weeks is one thing - but some older pregnancies would follow me into nightmares. In the 8 months I worked there, I saw 6 separate women that used this as a birth control method, even though after each termination we would counsel them and set them up with FREE birth control!!! One woman, I 'counted' her "aborted tissue" 6 TIMES in 8 months!!! I am still Pro-choice, but my attitude has changed because of this experience. Just like many other things in life, in the hands of some people, it can be taken to the extreme. |

Re: Aborted Babies
Next time someone tells you they are against abortion and that the mothers should put the babies up for adoption... ask them if they are willing to adopt a severely handicapped baby that will never communicate or walk... ask them if they are willing to adopt the baby with fetal alcohol syndrome who will have a lifetime of behavioral problems... ask them if they are willing to adopt a baby with a lethal genetic condition that will rack up millions of dollars in medical treatment before its inevitable death. And if they say yes, ask them why they haven't done it yet. And if they say no, tell them to shut the fuck up until they're willing to practice what they preach.

Re: Aborted Babies
It's a personal choice, that's totally true, but one I'll never understand. Never thought much about it either way until I held my daughter the first time, but after that, it's just so hard to comprehend that choice. Don't know the circumstances the girls were in that made the choice, but regardless, RIP little ones |
