20 Animals Whose Lives Were Changed by Bionic Science

I wasn't sure where to put this. We've seen the piglet and the eagle before, but, here are a bunch more.

Thanks to the wonders of modern technology, these animals now have bionic limbs!

1. Tzevika the Tortoise

Tzevika was run over by a lawn mower. Her shell was cracked and her spinal cord was damaged. She couldn't use her back legs until these special wheels were made for her.

2. Niu Niu the Giant Panda

After getting in a fight with other pandas, Niu Niu lost his left paw. She was rescued by a research center in China and had a prosthetic paw made.

3. Tripod the Llama

Tripod was found in Denver with a damaged leg. It had to be amputated and he now has one prosthetic leg.

4. Chris P. Bacon The Piglet

Chris P. was born without hind legs and his owner built him a wheelchair using Kinex toys.

5. Meadow the Calf

Meadow had frostbite on her hind legs and ears. Her hind legs were replaced with prosthetics and work perfectly.

6. Molly the Pony

Molly was attacked by a dog . The bite on her front leg got infected and she lost her leg. She was given prosthetic leg and can get around like every other horse.

7. Macho the Indian Horse

Macho was found injured on the side of the road and is now able to move around thanks to his prosthetic leg.

8. Yu Chan the Turtle

Yu Chan was caught in a fishing net, which in most cases, would have ended his life. He was fitted with prosthetic flippers and lives in a marine life reserve in Japan.

9. Naki'o the Dog

Naki'o was found freezing in a basement in Nebraska. A veterinary assistant adopted him and save up the money to buy him prosthetic legs.

10. Motala the Elephant

Motala stepped on a landmine during the Burmese-Thai war and had to have most of her leg removed. She didn't get a prosthetic until 2009 at the age of 55.

11. Oscar the Cat

Oscar's hind legs were severed by a combine harvester. A veterinarian was able to construct new legs for Oscar.

12. Hoppa theDog

Hoppa was born without front legs and used to get around by sliding on his chest. His new set of wheels takes some pressure off of his back.

13. Septimus the Turtle

During hibernation, rats starting eating away at Septimus' legs. He was found with maggot infested legs by the time doctors could get to him. Thankfully, he was able to have his legs amputated and replaced with wheels.

14. Fuji the Bottlenose Dolphin

A rare disease took Fuji's tail and a veterinarian was able to build him a new one using Formula One tires.

15. Beauty the American Bald Eagle

Beauty's beak was lost to poachers. Doctors used 3D printing technology to print her a new beak.

16. Hope the Yorkshire Terrier

Hope lost her front leg but has a front wheel that lets her get around easier.

17. Bunker the Sandhill Crane

Bunker had his leg crushed by a golf ball. His first prosthetic failed, but now he's able to walk around.

18. Emma the Mini Donkey

Emma's back leg was deformed when she was born. It was so bad that it had to be amputated and replaced with a prosthetic.

19. Billy the French Bulldog

Billy's hind legs were paralyzed when he was born. His wheelchair was created with small water tube and toy wheels.

20. Dudley the Duck

Dudley was attacked by chickens and lost one of his feet. It's been replaced thanks to 3D printing technology.
