i did a report on this lady back in highschool, i did a search and didnt see her soooo here she is... btw i got a B+ Betty Lou Williams was born on January 10, 1932 in Albany, Georgia as Lillie B. Williams. The daughter of poor sharecroppers and the youngest of twelve children, she was discovered at the age of 1 by showman Dick Best. She came to the attention of Robert Ripley, of Believe it or Not?! Ripley and Best negotiated and Betty Lou was allowed to be shown at the Ripley's Believe it or Not? In Chicago. Anatomically, Betty was "perfect", except for - or perhaps in addition to - her parasitic twin, which consisted of two legs and an arm with three fingers... Her good looks and kind disposition did not go unnoticed by male suitors, and Betty became engaged to one of them. Those who knew the couple claimed this man was only after her fortune, and when he left her, he took a good deal of her money with him. hmmm....her twin seems to like mooning everyone. i wonder how the police dealt with that? "you're twin is indecent. either she covers up or i'll run both of you in." "fine. i'll run you in and arrest her for indecent exposure AND loitering." seriously, i feel for the people who spend their lives being gawked at and referred to as a freak. i'm surprised none of them at one point didn't sneak a gun into their show/viewing and start shooting all the people who paid to see them. certainly, they must have had some hidden animosity towards them for their "normalness" and their "nosiness". |
