That's one of the differences between the EU and US... Everyone deserves compensation when things go wrong only over here we would rather that difference in money went on patient care so other people can be treated, not huge amounts that are not proportionate to the accident/injury/negligence

Every time I hear of a case when a prescription is misfilled, I cringe! Fortunately, I check all my prescriptions and know what I take. My family doctor's office gets the staff to write them out nicely and just signs most of them. |

Just trying to place the blame elsewhere darkest angel. Nope, wasn't our fault! No sirree. Anyway, if he'd ingested them, they would have to have been located inside the digestive tract somewhere. Considering his nurse saw a gauze pad sticking out of the wound, that was not the case. Nothing should ever be 'left behind' after a surgery. Yet it still happens. Far too often. In such cases I believe all medical care needed to rectify the situation should be provided free of charge by the hospital, and the offending doctor to fix it without compensation. Then a 20k fee for emotional damage. None of this BS multi million dollar frivolous lawsuits. |
