Re: 11 Year Old Boy Attacked by Tiger at Brazilian Zoo
kid was an idiot for antagonizing it. thats why fences are there. and the father of course was nowhere around the area when the incident happened. zoo's are a disgrace. i was at the local zoo in NJ where i live this past summer and i will never go back. it was horrifying to see the animals so stressed out and unhappy in such small enclosures. animals pacing by the doors, mangy underweight animals. just horrible.

Life is a crapshoot. We all do dumb things, but usually we are lucky enough to walk away with a good story to tell. This poor most likely lost an arm. It could have been worse or it could have been better.

Re: 11 Year Old Boy Attacked by Tiger at Brazilian Zoo
I loathe zoo's. I am in NJ and the zoo here is awful. Animals pacing by the door (huge sign of stress), looking mangy, and in enclosures way to small for them. They built a touch tank where you can stick your hands in for the stingrays (they are small). Obviously there is a sign to wash your hands first, which no one cares about. The water is filthy and murky which is probably bad for them. PETA was actually trying to shut down touch tanks across the country, so it wasn't my imagination that conditions were not fair to the stingrays. It was cool, and they come up to you like dogs lol but unfair to them to be in water that greasy filthy handed kids stick in there all day. These animals don't belong caged and in zoos, they should be running, with plenty of space, without people screaming at them or throwing food at them. The cheetah wouldn't leave the area by the door, pacing. The lion that bit this kid was probably stressed out and irritated.
