Yvonette Chua-Plaza Shot Dead in Davao City, December 2022
On December 29, 2022, 38-year-old pharmaceutical sales representative, businesswoman and model Yvonette Chua-Plaza was shot at close range while walking between her SUV and the gate of the home she rented in Green Meadows, Tugbok District, Davao City. Her bag was taken, and both the shooter and the motorcycle rider waiting nearby wore full-face helmets. Police filed murder complaints against ten people within a month, identifying former Presidential Security Group chief Brigadier General Jesus Durante III as the alleged mastermind. Investigators said the killing may have been a crime of passion. Durante denied involvement. An army court martial reprimanded him in May 2025, and three others were given jail terms. There is no support in the reporting or published CCTV stills for claims that she was kneeling and begging when she was shot. |

Does not seem to be either, based on early investigation reports.

They censor a lot over in the Philippines. Here's some additional stuff I found fairly quickly. Still looking for any uncensored copies. |

Yes, they had her down on her knees. She was pleading and begging before they executed her.

I go to the Phils on business sometimes, and I usually have two off duty members of the federal police with machine pistols under their tropical shirts. I go down to Mindanao, where all the turmoil is. Most Filipino males are armed, or have them at home.
