You can rebreathe the same air several times before it starts to get toxic. I've used rebreather masks in offshore safety training, with a 'bag' of air strapped to your chest. It takes quite a long time before it starts to get uncomfortable. So these people could have taken five minutes or more to slowly die. Absolutely horrifying way to go.  |

Yes. Watched a case on CrimeWatch UK where the dying victims last words were to his brother, that he couldn’t see him any longer, but he could hear him. Then he died. Brother said his eyes were open as this was happening. |
