Young Lady Shot Dead
On 28th October 2018 in Simões Filho, 24 year old J.S. was found dead. 'J', a telemarketing operator who was 2 months pregnant, had been beaten + shot in her head. 'J' had last been seen the night before when she was out having pizza with friends. She had received a phone call, said goodbye to everyone + then left. She was buried on 31st October. Apparently the baby's father did not want the child. The man was married + attended the same church as her.

violence against women has increased significantly and feminicide has reached alarming levels. According to data from the United Nations - UN, the rate of feminicide in Brazil is the fifth largest in the world.
