To the people questioning the wisdom of not having the child buckled in, I believe you missed the part of the narrative wherein it is established that seizures were happening. The medical professionals the parents had likely already spoken to would've instructed them to place the girl on her side on a soft surface and constantly check her airway. Now, what is the best way to follow that advice in a car? Gently resting the child on her side in the lap while performing frequent sweeps of the airway, perhaos? And here we are. |
