Re: Young Girl Hangs Herself In Fear
Me and my brothers did. That's how we made lassos for playing Cowboys and Indians. I can't say I'd have thought about committing suicide at that age, though. When I broke something I wasn't supposed to be touching, I'd hide it. Once the deception was discovered, I'd get a good ol' All-American ass beating and that'd be the end of it. Live to fuck up kid-style another day. |

Re: Young Girl Hangs Herself In Fear
Language is a crazy thing. As an American speaking only english (redundant to say lol): "Ridiculous" has a slight negative connotation. Negative in that it opposes the norm and generally speaking the norm is fairly easy to define. In America, a 10 year old hanging themselves is absolutely outside of the norm. "Tragedy" is almost purely subject as it is based off of emotion, mainly sadness. What makes one sad may not make another sad. |

Re: Young Girl Hangs Herself In Fear
As another poster has clarified the subjectivity of the sense of "tragedy", I need not comment further on that. As far as "ridiculous" goes, that is less subjective, but ultimately has a degree of subjectivity as well, as some sub cultures operate with different norms from those of the overall dominant one.
