I'm actually not sure that her feet -are- touching the floor. The pattern on the carpet may be making it look like they were, but they seem to be an inch or two off of the ground when you look closely. Though that still wouldn't explain what she stood on to get what little drop she did have.

I tried doing a little research on the pictures for some background and was able to determine that she was 14 years old and that it happened in Brazil, but nothing further than that.

Regardless of the position of her feet, it is obvious that there was no discernible drop. Chances are good that she was a long time dying, with quite a bit of pain and struggling before she finally choked out. A sad fate indeed for a young girl; not one I'd wish on my worst enemy, to be honest.

I've seen several articles about young girls, mostly in Latin American countries, that had committed suicide because of their parents not allowing a relationship that the girl was in. They're always very young, very attractive- So Sad!....Always boggles my mind.

Arg this is a horrible 1 and brings back memories that i would rather forget check out her hands....i thought that the muscles relaxed after death also the belt might have stretched. Not all hangings are nice and simple some people don't get it right and suffer really bad and suffocate instead of passing out first and it can go on for minutes.

My sister in law hung herself 3 years ago on the 24th of this month we found her in a barn next to her home. The police left her hanging over 3 hours after they arrived cos they said that "hanging could be murder" we told them that she was severly depressed and this was suicide and not murder but they left her hang anyway. One of the worst things i have ever had to go through was being there and watching them cut her down i'll never get that out of my head. When the undertaker came to get her body they put her in the back of an estate car in a body bag which i thought was really disrespectful to her (i mean FFS i could have taken her away in my car) i had to stand behind the car and shout for my husband and his other sister as they wanted to see her go and the bloke wanted to drive away saying to me "well the morgue is expecting her" to which i replied "shes dead now she has nowhere else to go so you can wait a minute or so" but there was no way in this world i was going to let him take her away.

Sorry for my rant but like i said this is really close to home for me

I'm really sorry for your loss and the trauma after the fact,I had to watch my 7 yr. old boy die right in front of my eyes and that will never leave me either!
