Not a "poor thing" or "poor kid" at all. She should have worn a helmet. Probably shouldn't have been driving a scooter either, 14 yo is too young for driving.

They chalked the bike too, both girl and bike dead at the scene. And what's up with the tag over, is that "Hello Kitty"?

Re: Young Female Student on Scooter Dead in Traffic Accident
That's a pretty harsh indictment for a 14 year old girl. I mean, it isn't like she was Nikki Catsouras who got coked up, stole her parents' Porsche, drove 120 mph on the freeway, and crashed into a manned tollboth, risking the lives of hundreds. Sure, she should have had a helmet. And sure, 14 may be too irresponsible for road driving. But ultimately the most she's guilty of is being a little careless with her own safety. Just a kid on her way to school who got clipped in an everyday traffic accident that she never saw coming. Hardly worthy of a death sentence entirely without sympathy. There are PLENTY of people in this section of the website whose deaths could be considered 'justified' and where a lack of sympathy and understanding may be appropriate given the circumstances. Pretty sure this isn't one of them. But congratulations on your bid to come off looking like an even bigger heartless, emotionally void, human-hating curmudgeon than I usually manage to do. That takes some doing. |
