In the early afternoon of Wednesday, January 14, a serious accident left 2 people dead in the Olympic Garden in Maringa (426 km from Curitiba). The collision occurred at the intersection involving a Honda motorcycle and a Fiat.

According to preliminary information, the young man (18yo), and his girlfriend (16 yo), were on the motorcycle traveling down the street when they were surprised () by the Fiat which was heading left at the intersection. They succumbed to their injuries at the scene.

The driver of the car was unharmed and reported that he saw the bike coming at his way before starting the conversion, but believed it would give time to make the maneuver. According to eyewitness accounts, the motorcycle was traveling at a high speed (the speed limit on site is 40 km/h).

The bodies of the victims were collected and sent to the Medical Legal Institute (IML) of Maringa. The causes of the accident are being investigated. Also according to information, the couple had a 2yo son.
