After Yerlin Alejandra Arboleda, 16, from the Comuneros 1 neighborhood of Cali's Aguablanca district, was reported missing on March 11, 2017, relatives and neighbors joined a search for her. The following day, they found her semi-buried and dismembered in a sugarcane field on Cali, Colombia's eastern outskirts. Two teenagers were captured as the presumed killers, while prosecutors in May announced charges against 14 members of Los Raka, an extortion gang active in the area, over the death.
